Padelgest manufactures the first hurricane-proof padel court withstanding wind forces over 180mph

PADELGEST has recently installed the first hurricane-resistant padel court in Miami (Florida, USA), capable of withstanding gusts over 180mph meantime featuring an exclusive fully panoramic design. So far this is the first court in the world with these characteristics, born out of the need to counter nowadays increasing weather instability.

Padel courts resistant to all types of atmospheric phenomena

Global climate change has led to all sorts of extreme meteorological phenomena, ranging from droughts to floods and fires. Hurricanes are also common in this scenario; global warming is firing up heavier and less predictable storms. Just in 2022, three hurricanes in the United States caused damages worth over a billion dollars. In a context of rising global temperatures, it is very likely for these figures to grow up in the coming years.

Recently we saw the devastating images of destruction at Island Padel Jersey Padel Club; affected from Hurricane Ciaran which reached gusts up to 125mph. Club was forced to an indefinite shutdown of the venue although relieved none personal damage was suffered. Awareness has raised of this increasing catastrophic events in such sensible areas located in the edge and prone to intense storms, where a basic padel court can become a safety risk.

Our court holds up for winds over 180mph

As hurricanes are intensifying in many territories, mainly in Gulf of Mexico and general US Atlantic Coast, more precautionary becomes necessary in such sensible areas down seizing the impact of catastrophic events. From these grounds, at Padelgest we aimed our courts going a step further, capable to face off extreme weather phenomena.

Designing a structure capable of withstanding winds exceeding 180mph takes first acquiring a deep insight of the risk parameters faced by the most affected areas as well as an in-depth study of the local regulatory.

After the review of most-affected-States Building Codes our international crew experts came up with the perfect balance both in raw materials as well as shape design resulting in an ultra-resistant structure but still fully panoramic performing the highest specs you might expect in the elite competition.

After months of intense work, this September, we achieved our goal by installing the first certified panoramic hurricane-resistant court in the most exposed area in the world; Miami, Florida. Additionally, it also represents a big step further being the world’s first court not requiring the removal of glass panels in the event of a tropical storm, which was a huge inconvenience and cost for the promoter. Until now, in most cases, this rendered projects unfeasible.

A wise long-term investment

We honestly believe our hurricane-resistant padel range to be a wise long-term investment as well as a commitment that factors beyond design, bringing up functional solutions in a constantly evolving world.

To pioneer in our sector requires adapting to a constantly evolving weather in order to enhance player security while keeping the spectator unique experience of fully panoramic views. This is now possible with Padelgest, first and best Hurricane-proof Panoramic Court.
