10 Years since first World Padel Tour edition
World Padel Tour celebrated its 10th anniversary last December 2023. Padelgest was one of the brand partners since the event’s inception supplying the official first portable padel court, setting up unparallel precedent on each tournament worldwide. To commemorate the event’s latest edition in 2023, we wanted to highlight and honor the collaboration to this global event.
World Padel Tour 2023
World Padel Tour started in 2013 from its predecessor, the Padel Pro Tour. Organized by the Professional Padel Players Association (AJPP) and the Spanish Women’s Padel Association (AFEP), the World Padel Tour aimed to bring together the best padel players globally to compete for worldwide recognition. The tournament gained significant popularity in 2017, broadcast on Gol Tv channel, and since 2022, also been broadcast on Movistar + in Spain.
Each year, fifteen tournaments were held worldwide. It all culminated in the Master Final featuring global top sixteen couples both women’s and men’s categories. December 2023 was WPT’s final edition for their tenth anniversary. From now on we face a transition to a new international padel tournament: Premier Padel sponsored by Qatar Sports. This promising tour will take place through 2024 with twenty-five tournaments in eighteen countries.
Design of the Official World Padel Tour Court
We are taking advantage of this milestone in the padel industry to recall Padelgest was the manufacturer of the first padel court for this worldwide renowned tour of events.
Back in 2012 Padelgest joined competition hosted by the federation, aiming to provide solutions for what would become the future most important professional padel tournament, the World Padel Tour. The competition’s directive was to design the world’s first panoramic and portable padel court.
Was then we installed the court for the first World Padel Tour tournament held in 2013, featuring the most prominent model in our catalog, the Superpanoramic court. Smooth and skinnier shapes in the market with its full glass backends with 360º panoramic views resulting in a clearer and improved experience both for TV broadcast and spectators. Meant for the occasion also Mondo’s I+S+I laboratories developed artificial turf exponentially improving the game quality: increased speed and balance between bounce and grip for greater uniformity in game quality for both players and the ball. This court was manufactured to the standards of the World Padel Tour and the International Padel Federation. Since then we have focused into develop and implement the finest materials to achieve the perfect padel court.
